A car accident involving a truck is frightening, whether here in Harris County or throughout our state. When the victim is in a small car spinning out of control towards a pick-up truck, there is often a second or more where it is obvious what is about to happen. And unfortunately, many times an auto accident with a pick-up truck proves fatal.
About midday on July 30, a 3-vehicle accident in Atascocita sent three people to the hospital. The car accident occurred on Atascocita Road near the intersection of Atasca Oaks Drive, when a motorist driving southbound clipped a small sedan. The collision caused the sedan to spin out of control and directly into oncoming traffic, where it nearly slid underneath an oncoming pick-up truck.
The 51-year-old victim was airlifted by helicopter to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the truck driver was uninjured. The driver of the car that clipped the sedan, along with its passenger, was both transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The accident is pending investigation. The family of the victim will now be holding onto hope for the man's recovery. They will also want to ensure that a full and impartial investigation of the accident chronicles what happened and, where appropriate, details the negligence of any driver.
At a time when the family is understandably focused on the health of their loved one, it is difficult to also tend to the details of the accident itself. A Harris County attorney experienced in personal injury and accident reconstruction may offer some support and assistance.
